Royal Kona Resort

Royal Kona Resort

8/10 Good
"Room was comfortable and clean but the place needs to be spruced up - chipped plaster, plain bathroom, just a bit shabby looking. Birds chirping all night in the Bay tower atrium were annoying. Lagoon closure for a week was bogus - there was a hole they needed to fill and they blamed Hurricane Fausto for high tides. The hurricane never came close to Hawaii and the high tides weren't on the east coast, just north. Pool and view were excellent, though. Lastly, free breakfast wasn't included as we were led to believe from advertising. They fool you by saying "Full Breakfast Available" when listing amenities. Overall, not a bad place."

"This is a very nice, out of the way location. Our group was very happy with the accommodations and amenities. The only negative feedback I received was with the Ohana house. Having been to Hawaii on other trips, we looked for a location that had A/C. The main building had A/C and excellent air flow, but the separate building was a little warm for the family with small children."
